Minotaur: Overlook Maze - TF2

Originally made in 72 hours, with only visual tweaks thereafter, Minotaur is a 1:1 recreation of the Overlook Hotel Maze from The Shining. Players are spawned randomly throughout the maze, with the objective of making it out alive. After 35 seconds, the players begin to be hunted by the Horseless Headless Horsemann, in addition to any enemy players they may encounter. After 60 seconds, the exit is made clearer to the players and they can race to the finish line or die trying.

Made as a proof of concept for a gameplay project.

One of the 32 random spawn points throughout the map. While there are no resupply cabinets, these points are the only spots with health and ammo if a player is alive long enough to find one again.

Once spawned, the Horsemann will navigate the maze following the most optimized route towards the closest player. He, along with skeletons scattered about the map, make sure that players are constantly moving to find their way out.

One of two identical exits of the maze. For the first 60 seconds, the location is hidden behind additional hedges. Once revealed, a marker is visible throughout the map.

Once one of the two exits is chosen, a highlighted marker will be visible, and players can see the outline throughout the map - leading them to freedom.
